Abstract
The paper proposes the concept of waiting nodes to reflect on the containment of the border regulatory regime and the spatial-temporal process in which people explore and adopt effective mobility alternatives to overcome obstacles and continue their transit in southern Mexico. It therefore addresses the spatial-temporal dimensions of waiting as well as the ways in which it is confronted by human agency, which is expressed in actions and strategies to break the material and symbolic anchors used to contain migrants. As part of these strategies, this article explores the phenomenon represented by the emergence of large contingents of people who travel using wheeled vehicles, among which bicycles stand out due to their number.
