Résumé
Nous cherchons dans le présent article à examiner l’impact de l’attente non désirée et indéfinie sur les transformations des trajectoires migratoires. Nous sommes particulièrement intéressés par l’exploration de la capacité d’agence des personnes migrantes, depuis la conceptualisation d’Emirbayer et Mische (1998) dans ces moments d’incertitude à partir de la nécessité d’attendre. Certaines questions que nous nous posons sont: quel est le rôle de l’espoir pour atteindre l’objectif initial d’arriver à l’union américaine? Quelles sont les possibilités de manœuvre et de décision face à l’incertitude? Quel rôle joue l’usure dans des conditions de précarité, dans les décisions sur les plans migratoires? Comment les ressources d’information préalable et de soutien des liens influencent-elles la capacité d’agence? Pour ce travail, nous partons du travail sur le terrain qualitatif effectué entre 2023 et 2024 avec des adultes de différentes nationalités résidant dans la ville de Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, lequel nous identifions comme un nouveau nœud d’attente dans le couloir migratoire du Sud et de l’Amérique centrale aux États-Unis.
